If that mobile is capable to run pen drive/harddisk directly then you can play video directly from it otherwise you have to copy from hard disk to computer then again you have to copy from computer to mobile. Answer: Yes, you can copy the content to laptop/desktop or mobile for the backup so that in any case if pen drive get corrupted then you will have a backup in your laptop.

Only difference are one is sent in Pen Drive to your address and other is send via Google Drive from where you have to download to your laptop/mobile.
